Seafrost’s Waves In The Atmosphere has arrived. As the brainchild of Harry Benson, Seafrost is a wonderful blend of shoegaze and 90’s alt rock with haunting melodies and layers of effect laden guitars. The entire album is available as a whole or in parts on the Seafrost Band Camp page as a pay-what-you want (or not at all…) download. An excerpt from the page:
After almost a year of off and on recording, I am happy to finally be able to share Waves In The Atmosphere with you! For the past few years I’ve been playing solo creating instrumental songs ranging from folk to ambient. Seafrost marks the first project to feature drums, vocals and professional recording
The inspirations for this spawned from my memories of 90’s alternative music and my adoration for shoegaze and psychedelic music. Now, with the help of Evan and Carla, Waves In The Atmosphere is ready to enter your eardrums! Physical copies may become available eventually, but as of now there are no solid plans.
Take a listen to “Rainbow Static” here, or go to the Band Camp page to hear the whole album.

We’ve just posted an mp3 of the song Alien+Cop from Dangerbird’s recently released CD Homestead. Click here to download, or use the link in the sidebar.
Dangerbird’s new album Homestead is now available for purchase. The bulk of the album was recorded live at Red Planet in front of a studio audience back in March of 2008. Other elements were later added and mixed in to achieve the final sound that is heard on the record. It’s an enhanced CD with all kinds of extra goodies and you can order it for $8 (includes postage) by clicking here. You can visit Dangerbird and hear their music by going to their Myspace page.
Tina Keffeyah came into Red Planet over Memorial Day weekend and recorded a demo almost entirely live. It sounds rough and raw just like rock n’ roll should. Get it on their blog or click this direct link to download it for free.
Here are some reviews from their web site:
“Think Daft Punk meets Helmet”- Pitchfork Media
“These guys give us the biggest boner!”- R5 productions
“I’m wearing my Kafiya right now!”- City Paper
“I’m a DJ!”- Diplo
